24式简化太极拳 (24 Shì jiǎnhuà tàijí quán), 24 simplified Taijiquan was created in 1956 by the Chinese State Sport Commission. It was developed with the purpose in mind, to simplify and shorten the complex and long Yang style Taijiquan, and allow the masses to quickly learn and spread the art of Taijiquan.
Since its creation, China has also actively promoted the new simplified routine, and as of today, it is the most widely practiced Taijiquan routine worldwide.
